Week of 12/19 - 12/25

I had the week off from work so I got to run in daylight!  The left hip is feeling better, I sometimes notice it on the uphills, but it is getting better.  The knee, ok, the shin feels really good after stretching but is still sore and sometimes acts up slightly when running.  I had a solid run on Christmas Eve 13 miles, with Chris and Mark.  We pushed the pace pretty good and hip, knee and shin held up.  The beginning of the week I did some overnight winter camping which was awesome, see previous post.

Totals for the week:
47 miles of combined running and hiking
5591 feet of vert

Week of 12/12 - 12/18

Had a pretty solid week and hip and knee are starting to feel better.  Have some lingering issues with anti tib along the outside of left shin but it is getting better, LOTS of stretching.  Had some good runs in the Blue Hills and weight sessions as well at the gym.  Hit Lafayette on Saturday and then headed back into the woods on Sunday for a winter overnight and hit Galehead on 12/19/2011.  That is where the vertical came from this week.

Pictures added here and here.

Totals for the week:
43 miles of combined running and hiking
7321 feet of vert

Week of 12/5 - 12/11

It was a relatively quiet week, work got the better of me and I have been having problems with my hip and what I believe is my tibialis anterior.  I have been stretching it and doing some soft tissue massage which has seemed to help.  I ran on the treadmill as the weather was pretty bad a couple of days during the week, I did 3 miles at an average of 8%.  Saturday I had a great 12 mile run and Sunday capped it off with a 13 mile hike in NH, Passaconaway and Whiteface.

Totals for the week:

26 miles of combined running and hiking
5450 feet of vert

Week of 11/28 - 12/4

I took a couple of days off from training early in the week still have some lingering issues left hip and knee.  Did some ice and message therapy and gave things a go on Thursday and was feeling pretty good.  The Inov-8 are in the trash both pairs, not the shoe for me.  Been trying the Montrail Mountain Masochist, good shoe the upper is more stable, but the bottoms will not last.

Signed up for Collegiate Peaks and started thinking about the trip to Silverton, CO in June for some training.

Totals for the week:
31 miles of combined trail running and hiking
2800 feet of vertical tough living in the flat land and no trip up North.
